Ecotone: A Public Art Proposal for the David L. Lawrence Convention Center

2002

“My thoughts began creating a ‘genie’ or a niche with the intention of it being a pleasant place to contemplate nature, but also a mini-resource center. I imagine a special place for convention goers and the general public to go tune into the environment. This transitional zone will provide a situation and the amenities for anyone to engage in questioning: how we construct our world around us, how we design the built environment, and especially, how much value we place on nature. This is not a piece of art with a capital ‘A’ this is to be accessible to the majority of people.”
