Exhibited in Six Billion Perps Held Hostage! Artists Address Global Warming at the Andy Warhol Museum as a site-specific Ecoart Proposal to grow the rooftop of the Andy Warhol Museum with an engineered green roofsystem. Matt Wrbican, archivist of the museum, to assist the selection of an Andy Self Portrait and for to six species of sedum to best represent the aesthetics of the artwork for the birds, the humans flying over in airplanes, and of course all those humans on Google Earth. Solar Panels added to the roof both to shade existing skylights and to provide electricity to all enclosed areas: penthouses, stairwells, bathrooms, research facilities, cafes and the theater.
Green Roofs represent an elegant opportunity to simultaneously mitigate environmental problems and create immediate life enhancing value. Beyond all the ecological health benefits that green roofs provide for the planet, they also create a whole, new art ecosystem for the birds and for the humans to view via Google Earth.
